This historical record is valuable for performance reviews, goal setting, and tracking your skills development over time.

What Happens During a Check-in

Check-ins are 1:1 meetings where your manager:

  • Discusses your recent work and achievements
  • Assesses your skill levels based on demonstrated competencies
  • Sets or reviews your goal role
  • Records notes about the conversation
  • Identifies areas for growth and development

After the meeting, your manager creates the check-in record in Skilly, which then appears in your history. The skill assessments update your profile automatically.

Common Questions

Why don't I have any check-ins yet?

You'll see check-ins here after your manager conducts a 1:1 meeting with you and records it in Skilly. If you haven't had one yet, reach out to your manager to schedule your first check-in.

Can I edit or add to a check-in?

No, check-ins are created and managed by your manager to ensure consistency. If something seems incorrect, discuss it with your manager who can update the record.

How often should I have check-ins?

This varies by organization, but typically check-ins happen monthly or quarterly. Regular check-ins help track your progress and ensure you're developing toward your goals.

Do check-ins affect my profile?

Yes! When your manager assesses skills during a check-in, those levels update your profile automatically. This means your profile always shows your most recent assessments.
